Year 11 Physics Excursion

On the 2nd of August, Year 11 Physics students had a fantastic go-karting excursion. Girls were trained by the instructors and the videos prior to the race. Students were so excited because it was the first ever opportunity for many of them to drive a vehicle. They started their driving career with a high-speed racing car. Although they faced some difficulties in the first couple of laps, they quickly adapted to the cars and the race circuit.

The excursion was designed to feel acceleration and motion. More specifically, it was about estimating distance traveled and the average speed of the cars on the track. Students were sent an email by Ace Carts company stating their best lap, rank, and velocity time graph comparisons. They will study their results to find missing information by using known values.

After bus trips and an aggressive day racing, the girls were so hungry. The excursion was concluded with a delicious meal at Burgies.
